The California Lesbian Project
(CLP) focuses on education and empowerment of
lesbians and women ages 15 to 100.
GRASSROOT EMPOWERMENT
Our rights to marry, adopt children, and live
safely in our communities continue to be under
attack. CLP focuses on training lesbians to be
strong advocates for their rights and the rights
of others. Political/Activism Chair Andrea
Shorter & Therese Hughes are creating programs
to bring advocacy to your California community.
HEALTH
EMPOWERMENT
According to the
National Women’s Health Center, lesbians face
several unique challenges to their health care
access, which can result in poor physical and
mental health outcomes. CLP covers two areas of
health to comprehensively empower the Lesbian
Community. Chris Baldwin is a Navy Veteran. Ms. Baldwin is a Master Trainer, Boot Camp Instructor, Fitness writer and currently serves as Director of Health and Wellness for CLP. Chris owns and operates Baldwin Rocks Fitness, she is a member of the National Exercise and Sport Trainer's Association and is a Certified Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach.
FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT
An October 2009
L.A. Times article featured a lesbian couple
seeking financial education, services needed by
lesbians of all income levels. Information is
power. We will provide with the invaluable
resources of how to make your money work for you
and the power of saving. Keep your eye on our
